Wrought iron console tables with ornamental scrollwork became popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, reflecting the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements' emphasis on decorative metalwork. These pieces were often handcrafted by skilled blacksmiths and featured intricate curvilinear designs inspired by natural forms.
