Bombay Company, founded in 1973, became known for reproducing traditional European furniture styles with exotic materials and ornate details. Their slate-top tables with decorative metal frames were particularly popular in the 1980s and 1990s, though this piece's design reflects earlier 1950s French Provincial aesthetics.
